Whilst R L Translations is based in the West Midlands, we can provide interpreting services throughout the UK and even abroad, whether your requirement is for a small meeting or a large conference. Our interpreters are carefully matched to an assignment according to their location and specialist knowledge of the subject area.
The majority of our interpreters are NRPSI registered or DPSI qualified, which means that they hold a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting or they are listed on the National Register of Public Service Interpreters. They are therefore first-class interpreters and are suitably trained to work in court, police stations and in the public and private sectors.
R L Translations understands that some assignments may deal with sensitive business areas and consequently all our interpreters are required to abide by strict rules on confidentiality. R L Translations also appreciates that in certain circumstances, particular difficulties may be encountered by using an interpreter from a particular ethnic group, political orientation or gender. Contact us with your requirements and we’ll endeavour to find the best person for the job.

We can provide two types of interpreting:
Consecutive interpreting - where the interpreter starts speaking after the speaker has finished. This method of interpreting is used for less formal situations, such as informal telephone conversations or company visits. This is the less expensive option as no specialist equipment is required.
Simultaneous interpreting - where the interpreter speaks at the same time as the speaker. This method of interpreting is more formal and is often used in situations such as video conferences or court rooms. As specialist equipment is required, simultaneous interpreting is more expensive than consecutive interpreting. Simultaneous interpreting is quite demanding and tiring for an interpreter so to improve their efficiency on your assignment, two interpreters alternate at approximately fifteen minute intervals.
If you are uncertain as to whether you require a consecutive or simultaneous interpreter, please contact us for further advice.
Interpreting is charged on an hourly rate so if you need an interpreter for a short period you are not charged for a full day. Travel time and expenses are also chargeable; however we will always endeavour to use an interpreter situated as near to your required location as possible. The cost can vary depending on the language combination and the subject matter so please contact us to discuss your requirements.
